Erin L. Heinzen, Ph.D.is an Assistant Research Professor. She received her Doctorate of Pharmacy in 2001, follwed by a Ph.D. in pharmacokinetics/pharmacodynamics in 2004 from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She subsequently completed postdoctoral training studying receptor pharmacology at UNC Chapel Hill. Prior to joining the faculty in 2009, Dr. Heinzen was a postdoctoral fellow in the lab of Professor David Goldstein. Her research focuses on the impact of genetic variation on the brain transcriptome and how genetic regulation of gene expression may contribute to neuropsychiatric disease. She is specifically interested in studying how rare epilepsy-causing genetic variants may regulate the brain transcriptome to contribute to epilepsy pathophysiology. |
